Carriage Robe—4 4-oz. Skeins Knitting Worsted
Sacque—4 1-oz. Balls 3-ply Baby Yarn
Bonnet—1½ 1-oz. Ball 3-ply Baby Yarn
Booties—1 1-oz. Ball 3-ply Baby Yarn

Size 3 White Crochet Hook
Size 5 White Crochet Hook

CARRIAGE ROBE: With Size 5 crochet hook ch 90. Work back and forth in star st pattern as fol­lows (pattern is a multiple of 2 plus 6 sts):
Row 1—Draw up a loop in each of first 5 sts. Y O, and through 6 loops on hook, ch 1 to close the cluster; * draw up a loop through the eye formed by the ch 1, another through the back of last loop of star just made, another through the ch st in which 5th loop of previous star was taken, then through each of next 2 ch sts, Y O and through 6 loops on hook, ch 1; repeat from * across row.
Row 2—Ch 3, draw up a loop through each of first 2 ch sts just made, through the back of each of next 3 sts (the ch 1, the next loop and the next ch 1) , Y O and through 6 loops on hook, ch 1, * draw up a loop through the eye formed by the ch 1, another through the back of last loop made, through the back of next ch 1 of row below, through the back of next loop, then through the back of next ch 1, Y O and through 6 loops on hook; repeat from * drawing last loop through top of ch 3. Repeat row 2 until piece measures 26 in.
Border: Work 1 row of s c around entire robe, working 112 sts across the length, 88 s c across the width and 2 s c in each corner st. Working round and round, work 3 more rows of s c, st for st, working 3 sts in the center st at each corner. Ch 3. Work 1 row of star sts; 4 rows of s c; 1 row of star sts; ending with 4 rows of s c (ch 3 before starting star st row).
Edging: Work 1 row of picot sts around entire robe. Fasten off.

SACQUE: With Size 3 crochet hook, starting at neck edge, ch 66.
Row 1—Skip 1 ch, work 1 s c in each of remain­ing 65 sts. Ch 1 turn (ch 1 at end of each row).
Row 2—Increase 1 st in every 3rd st (86 sts).
Rows 3 and 4—Work 1 s c in each st.
Row 5—Increase 1 st in every 5th st (103 sts).
Rows 6, 7 and 8—Work 1 s c in each st.
Row 9—Increase 1 st in every 6th st (120 sts).
Rows 10, 11, 12 and 13—Work 1 s c in each st.
Row 14—Increase 1 st in every 3rd st 11 times; then in every 4th st 13 times; ending with an in­crease in every 3rd st 11 times (155 sts).
Rows 15 and 16—Work 1 s c in each st. Ch 3 to turn on row 16.
Change to size 5 crochet hook and work 2 rows of star sts across yoke (76 star sts). Join a sepa­rate strand of yarn between the 11th and 12th star st of last row; ch 6, skip 15 star sts for sleeves and fasten the ch of 6 into next space. Counting from right front edge, join other under­arm in same way. Pick up yarn at left front edge, and work back and forth in star st for 12 rows, working 3 star sts across each ch of 6 at un­derarms (53 star sts). Fasten off.
Sleeves: On right side of garment, join yarn at cen­ter underarm. Ch 3. Work back and forth in star st for 8 rows (17 star sts). Ch 1 turn.
Cuff: Change to size 3 crochet hook and work 1 s c in each of first 10 sts, 1 s c in each of next 7 eyes of star sts, then 1 s c in each of last 10 sts (27 sts), ch 1, turn. Work back and forth in s c, st for st, for 7 rows. Work 1 row of picot sts. Fasten off. Sew sleeve seams.
Work 1 row of beading around neck edge.
Starting at lower edge of right front, work 1 row of picot sts up right front edge, around neck edge, and down left front edge. Fasten off.

BONNET: With Size 3 crochet hook, ch 4. Join with a sl st to form a ring.
Row 1—Work 6 s c in ring (do not turn).
Row 2—Work 2 s c in each st (12 sts).
Row 3—* Work 2 s c in first st, 1 s c in next st; repeat from * 5 times.
Row 4—* Work 2 s c in first st, 1 s c in each of next 2 sts; repeat from * 5 times.
Row 5—* Work 2 s c in first st, 1 s c in each of next 3 sts; repeat from * 5 times.
Continue increasing 6 sts in each row as described above, until there are 15 rows in all for crown, ending at point. Ch 3 turn.
Change to size 5 crochet hook. Omitting one gore for back of neck, work back and forth in star st for 10 rows. Change to size 3 crochet hook and work 1 row of picot sts across front edge, skipping every 3rd st across center front, 5 times.
Neckband: Work 50 s c across neck edge. Ch 1 turn. Work 3 more rows of s c. Fasten off.

BOOTIES: With Size 3 crochet hook, ch 10. Work 9 s c on ch. Ch 1 turn. Work back and forth in s c for 8 more rows (instep). Ch 24. Join to beginning of last s c row with a slip st. Work 9 s c across each side of instep, 9 s c across toe edge of instep and 1 s c in each of the 24 ch sts. Working round and round; work 5 more rows of s c, st for st, then work 3 rows of s c, decreasing 1 st at each side of the 5 center sts across toe edge on each row. Work 2 rows even. Fasten off.
Sew sole seam.
Change to size 5 crochet hook. Join yarn at cen­ter back of boot. Ch 3. Work back and forth in star st for 6 rows. Work 1 row of picot sts. Fasten off. Sew back seam.
