MATERIALS … Clark's O.N.T. Lustersheen, 43 skeins of White or Ecru, or 58 skeins of any color for double size spread; 36 skeins of White or Ecru, or 48 skeins of any color for single size spread.

Milward's steel crochet hook No. 8 or 9.

GAUGE: Each block measures about 7½ inches square. For a double size spread, 90 x 112 inches, make 12 x 15 blocks. For a single size spread, 75 x 112 inches, make 10 x 15 blocks.

BLOCK … Starting at center, ch 15, join with sl st to form ring. 1st rnd: Ch 1, 24 s c in ring. Join with sl st to 1st s c made. 2nd rnd: * Ch 5, skip 2 s c, s c in next s c. Repeat from * around, ending with sl st where 1st ch-5 began (8 loops). 3rd rnd: Sl st in each of 1st 2 ch of 1st ch-5 loop, * ch 5, s c in same loop, ch 5, s c in next loop. Repeat from * around, ending with ch 2, d c where 1st loop began. 4th rnd: * In next loop make 3 d c, ch 3, 3 d c; s c in next loop. Repeat from * around. 5th rnd: Sl st in each of next 3 d c, ** s c in next ch-3 sp; * ch 20, s c in same sp. Repeat from * 2 more times (3 loops), ch 3, s c in s c between next 2 d c-groups, ch 3.    Make necessary number of motifs, and sew together on wrong side with neat over-and-over stitches.
