A practical and amusing baby bib to be crocheted of Enterprise Yarn. Soft and absorbent, it makes a good feeder, holds a lot of moisture and prevents soiling of the clothes be­neath. In white and de­sign in pink or blue, it’s an acceptable shower gift or bazaar item.

Materials: One ball (or 2 skeins) white, 30 yds. color.
Size: 9 x 10 inches.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 1.

NECK BAND: With white, ch 33, sk last st, 32 sc on ch. Fasten off. Ch 12, sl st in first sc, ch 1, turn, sk last st of 12-ch, sc in next st, (ch 1, sc in next second st) 5 times. Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc in next sc) 5 times, ch 1, sl st in next sc on neck band (1 rib). Work each sc in sc of previous rows unless stated otherwise.
RIB 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) repeat to end. Ch 3, turn, sc in second st of 3-ch, (ch 1, sc) repeat across, ch 1, sl st in sc on band. Re­peat 6 times.
RIBS 9-10: Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) repeat to end, 1 more sc in end sc. Ch 3, turn, sc in second st of 3-ch, (ch 1, sc) 8 times, ch 1, sl st in sc. Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, 1 sc (ch 1, sc) repeat to end. Ch 3, turn, sc in second st of 3-ch, (ch 1, sc) 15 times to band, ch 1, sl st in second sc on band.
RIB 11: Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) to end, 1 more sc in end sc. Ch 3, turn, sc in second st of 3-ch, (ch 1, sc) to neck, ch 1, sl st on band.
RIBS 12-13: Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) to end. Ch 3, turn, sc in second st of 3-ch, (ch 1, sc) 10 times, ch 1, sl st. Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) to end. 1 more sc in end sc. Ch 3, turn, sc in second st of 3-ch, (ch 1, sc in sc) 20 times to neck, ch 1, sl st in second sc on band. Repeat Rib 2 twice.
RIB 16: Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) to end. Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) 19 times, ch 1, sl st.
RIB 17: Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) to end. Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) 16 times, ch 1, sl st.
RIBS 18, 19, 20, 21: Same as Rib 17, except (ch 1, sc) in Rib 18 is repeated 13 times; Rib 19—10 times; Rib 20—7 times; Rib 21—4 times.
RIB 22: Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) to end. Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) 4 times, ch 1, sl st in same st with next sl st. Repeat Ribs 20, 19, 18, 17 and 16.
RIB 28: Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, sc in next sc, (ch 1, sc) to end. Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) 22 times to neck, ch 1, sl st on band. Repeat once.
RIB 30: Ch 1, turn, sc in last sc, (ch 1, sc) repeat to second sc from end, hdc in end sc. Ch 2, turn, sk hdc and last sc, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) to neck, ch 1, sl st on band.
RIBS 31-32: Repeat first half of last rib. Ch 1, turn, sk hdc, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) 11 times, ch 1, sl st. Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) repeat to second sc from end, hdc in end sc. Ch 2, turn, sk hdc and 1 sc, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) repeat to neck, ch 1, sl st in second sc on band.
RIB 33: Repeat first half of Rib 30. Ch 1, turn, sk hdc, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) repeat to neck, ch 1, sl st on band.
RIBS 34-35: Repeat first half of Rib 30. Ch 2, turn, sk hdc and 1 sc, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) 8 times, ch 1, sl st. Ch 1, turn, sk sl st, 1 sc (ch 1, sc) 7 times, hdc in end sc. Ch 1, turn, sk hdc, 1 sc, (ch 1, sc) 13 times to neck. Ch 1, sl st in second sc on band. Repeat Rib 33 nine times. Fasten off.

EDGE: Join color to left-hand corner of neck band, (ch 2, dc ½" along on edge, ch 2, dc in same st, ch 2, sc ½" along on edge) repeat around. Fasten off.

BUNNIES—Body—With color, ch 3, making first st twice usual length, (1 dc, 9 tr and 1 dc) in long st, ch 2, sl st in same st, ch 6, sl st in same st. Fasten off. Tack 6-ch up on body for tail.

HEAD: Ch 2, 2 hdc in starting st, ch 9, sl st in last hdc, 1 hdc in same starting st, ch 9, sl st in hdc, hdc and sl st in starting st. Fasten off. Lay body over base of head and tack together. Make 3 Bunnies.

Make 1 ch 4½" long, 1 – 3" long and 1 – 1½" long. As illustrated, sew bunnies on with ch under each. Make 3 leaf groups of 2 Lazy Daisy Sts on longest ch and 1 on middle ch.

TIES—Ch. Crochet to desired length, or cut 3 threads 36" long—twist tightly—double and twist again. Make 2—tack free ends to each end of neck band.
