Materials Required — AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "GEM" COTTON YARN.
1 Skein Red and 1 Skein White will be sufficient for Purse and Beanie.
4 inch Zipper.
Bone Crochet Hook Number 4 or 5.

With Red, ch 32, sl st in 2nd st from hook, sl st in each of the next 3 chs, 1 s c in each of the next 23 chs, sl st in each of the next 4 chs, ch 1, turn.
2nd Row. Work another row of s c in Red, slip stitching the 1st and last 4 sts. Drop Red pickup White and repeat 2nd row. Work another row in White. Then work 2 rows in Red. Repeat the last 4 rows 4 times, break yarn.
With Red work a row of s c around both sides of purse. Fold in half and sew sides together. Crochet a row of s c across both tops and sew in zipper.

Handle. Twist 4 one yard strands of Red together, hold both ends and let it twist itself. Knot one end and sew to bag. Knot the other end leaving about a 2 inch length for fringe, sew to bag.
