CROCHETED BORDER … Starting at one corner with Yellow and No. 10 hook, ch 27. 1st row: Tr in 11th ch from hook, (ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch) 4 times. Ch 7, turn. 2nd to 5th rows incl: Skip first tr, tr in next tr, (ch 3, tr in next tr) 3 times; ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch. (One scallop completed). Ch 7, turn. 6th row: Skip first tr, tr in next tr, (ch 3, tr in next tr) twice. Ch 7, turn. 7th, 8th and 9th rows: Skip first tr, tr in next tr, ch 3, tr in next tr, ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch. Ch 7, turn. 10th row: Repeat 9th row making ch 14 (instead of ch-7) to turn. 11th row: (This starts second scallop.) Tr in 11th ch from hook, (ch 3, tr in next tr) 3 times; ch 3, skip 3 ch, tr in next ch. Ch 7, turn. Repeat 2nd to 11th rows incl, until 7 scallops (sections of 5 sps) have been completed. Break off. Attach thread to corner of first sp on last row and, working alongside of this section, make ch 7, skip first sp, tr in next st, (ch 3, skip next sp, tr in next st) twice. Ch 7, turn. Continue making scallops as before until there are 5 sections of 5 sps, including the corner section, which was the last section of the long side. Work other sides to correspond, ending with a section of 3 sps. Sew last row to first section made to complete border. The scalloped edges are inner edges of border. Work sc closely along outer edges of border. Press border, place over organdy and sew in place with close blanket stitch.
