MATERIALS—Lily Soft Spun Yarn:—1-ball Lt. Green with size 3 crochet hook; Lily Pearl Cotton size 5:—1-ball Scarlet with size 5 hook and 1-sk. Lily Six Strand Floss in Golden Yellow.

In Soft Spun Yarn, ch 44, join untwisted into a ring with sc in 1st 2 ch, hdc in remaining 42 ch. Mark end of rows. ROWS 2 thru 8—Hdc in each st around and around. ROW 9—2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in each st to center of row (opposite side of hand), 2 hdc in next st, hdc in each st to end of row. ROW 10—Hdc in each st around. Repeat Rows 9 and 10 once (48 hdc in each row). ROW 13—Ch 7, sk 7 hdc, hdc in each remaining hdc around. ROW 14—Hdc in each st of 7-ch lp, hdc in each hdc around. Repeat Row 10 nine times. End final Row 23 directly above right end of thumb gusset.

1st FINGER—Make a 2d hdc in same st with last hdc, hdc in next 3 hdc, sc in next 3 hdc, ch 2, reverse work so back of hand is toward you, sk last 12 sts, sc in next st. Working around and around on this finger, make sc in next st, hdc in next 11 sts, hdc in 2 ch sts. Hdc in 15 sts around thru Row 13. * (Sk 1 hdc, hdc in next st) 8 times, sk 1 st, sl st in next. Fasten off, weaving end tog. *

2d FINGER—With palm towards you, sl st in same hdc on palm with end sc on last Finger, * sc in next 6 hdc, ch 2, reverse work and make 3 sc and 3 hdc in 6 sts on back up to last finger, hdc in 2 ch sts between fingers, hdc in starting 6 sc, hdc in 2 ch sts, hdc in 16 sts around and around thru Row 14. Repeat 1st Finger from * to *.

3d FINGER—Repeat 2d Finger, making it same length as 1st Finger.

4th FINGER—Repeat 2d Finger to *. Sc in next 3 hdc, hdc in 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next st, hdc in remaining 6 sts, hdc in 2 ch between fingers. Hdc in 15 sts around and around thru Row 10. Repeat 1st Finger from * to *.

THUMB—Hdc in 7 hdc at bottom edge of gusset, hdc in end of next row, hdc in 7 sts of ch at top of gusset, hdc in end of opening, hdc in 16 sts around and around thru Row 13. Repeat 1st Finger from * to *.

FRILL—In Red and size 5 hook, sc in one st around wrist, (ch 4, sc in next st) repeated around, making ch 2 and hdc for final lp. ROW 2—(Ch 4, sc in next lp) repeated around, with ch 2 and hdc for final lp. Repeat 4 times. Fasten off.

BRACELET—In Yellow Floss, ch 50, 3 sc in 2d st, sc in each ch to end, 3 sc in end ch, sc in each st on other side of ch. Join and fasten off. Sew wrong-side-up around Row 6 of Hand. In Red, make a large French Knot in every 3d st around Bracelet.

RING—In Yellow, ch 23 and repeat Bracelet. Sew around 3d Finger and make 4 Red Knots across back of Ring.

BASE—In Soft Spun Yarn, ch 12, 2 sc in 2d st, * sc in next ch, hdc in 2 ch, dc in 3 ch, hdc in 2 ch, sc in next ch, * 3 sc in end ch. On other side of ch repeat from * to *. Sc in next ch, sl st in 1st sc. ROW 2—Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around and join. Fasten off.

Stuff Hand with cotton or rags. Sew Base inside end of wrist. Tack lower half of Thumb tightly to Hand. Sew a small bone ring to palm just below 2d Finger for hanging on wall.
