J. & P. COATS "KNIT-CRO-SHEEN" METALLIC, Art. A.64: 1 ball each of No. M.1 White and No. M.126 Spanish Red.
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

Use 1 strand each of plain thread and metallic in corresponding colors throughout.

GAUGE: 5 sc make 1 inch; 5 rows make 1 inch.

CREAM PITCHER … Starting at bottom with White, ch 21. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd, 3rd and 4th rows: 2 sc in first sc (1 sc increased), sc in each sc across, 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. At end of 4th row, drop White, attach Red. Ch 1, turn. 5th row: Repeat 2nd row, drop Red. 6th row: Pick up White at beginning of row and repeat 2nd row, drop White, pick up Red. Ch 1, turn. 7th row: Repeat 2nd row. Break off Red. 8th row: Pick up White and sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 9th to 14th rows incl: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. At end of 14th row, drop White, attach Red. Ch 1, turn. 15th row: Repeat 8th row, drop Red. 16th row: Pick up White at beginning of row, work off first 2 sc as 1 sc (1 sc decreased), sc in each sc across to within last 2 sc, dec 1 sc. Drop White. 17th row: Pick up Red and repeat 16th row. Break off Red. 18th row: Repeat 16th row. Ch 1, turn. 19th, 20th and 21st rows: Repeat last row. Break off at end of 21st row, attach Red. Ch 1, turn. 22nd, 23rd and 24th rows: Repeat 2nd row. 25th row: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 3, turn. 26th row: Dc in first sc, dc in next 2 sc, half dc in next 3 sc, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in each sc to within last 9 sc, sc in next 3 sc, half dc in next 3 sc, dc in next 2 sc, 2 dc in last sc. Break off. Make another piece the same way.

HANDLE … With 2 strands of Red "Speed-Cro-Sheen" and 2 strands of Red Metallic, ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Break off.
   Sew pieces together around 2 sides and bottom, using matching thread. Sew Handle in place.

SUGAR BOWL … Work as for Cream Pitcher until 24 rows have been com­pleted. 25th row: Repeat 2nd row. 26th row: Sl st in next 11 sc, make sc and half dc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc, 2 tr in each of next 2 sc, 2 dc in next sc, half dc and sc in next sc, sl st in each remaining sc. Break off.

HANDLE (Make 2)… Work as for Cream Pitcher. Complete as for Cream Pitcher.
