MATERIALS.—Ardern's crochet cotton No. 20 (old ticket number) or No. 40 (new ticket number). Tatting shuttle.

Ring 1.—3 ds., 7 p. sep. by 3 ds., 3 ds., close ring, r.w.
Chain 1.—5 ds., 2 p. sep. by 3 ds.. 5 ds., r.w.
Ring 2. —3 ds., 1 p., 3 ds., join to 6th p. of previous ring, 3 ds., 5 p. sep. by 3 ds., 3 ds., close ring, r.w.
Chain 2.—3 ds., 16 p. sep. by 3 ds., 3 ds., r.w.
Ring 3.—As ring (1), joining 4th p. to 4th p. of ring (2), r.w.
Chain 3.—As chain (1), r.w.
Ring 4.—As ring (2) joining 4th p. to 4th p. of ring (1), r.w.
Chain 4.—3 ds., 1 p., 3 ds., r.w.
Ring 5.—3 ds., 1 p., 3 ds., join to 6th p. of ring (4), 3 ds., 3 p. sep. by 3 ds., 3 ds., close ring.
Ring 6.—3 ds., join to last p. of ring (5), 3 ds., 4 p. sep. by 3 ds., 3 ds., close ring.
Ring 7.—As ring (6), r.w.
Chain 5.—As chain (4).
Repeat from beginning for length required joining as follows:
2nd p. of ring (1) to 4th p. of ring (7).
1st p. of chain (1) to 2nd p. of chain (3).
2nd p. of chain (1) to 1st p. of chain (3).
3rd p. of chain (2) to 14th p. of chain (2) of previous pattern.
