CLARK'S O.N.T. COTTON RUG YARN, Art. B.204: 1 ball of No. 206 Dk. Yellow. A few yards of No. 428 Autumn Glow.

Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2/0 (double zero).

¼ yard red felt for lining and scraps of white, black, grey and blue felt for eyes...2 blue buttons; 3 black sequins and 4 small sequins; 3 white beads; 32 rhinestones...5 bone rings.

S-692 . . . Starting with Mid Rose, ch 41. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd to 8th rows incl: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. 9th to 18th rows incl: Skip first sc, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. Break off at end of 18th row. Now work other side of face as follows: 1st row: Attach White to opposite side of starting chain, sc in same place, sc in next 18 ch, insert hook in next ch, draw thread through, drop White, attach Mid Rose and draw through loops on hook, thus changing color (always change color in this manner), working over White, sc in next 7 ch, change color, leave Mid Rose free and with White, sc in each remaining sc across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in each White sc, sc in next Mid Rose sc, change color, working over White, sc in next 5 sc, change color, sc in each remaining sc. 3rd and 4th rows: Work as for 2nd row, having 3 Mid Rose sc's on 3rd row and 1 on 4th row. Break off Mid Rose at end of 4th row. Working with White only, complete as for other side. Attach Spanish Red to first sc, sc closely around. Join and break off.

Cut eyes of grey felt, eye balls and brows of black felt and mouth of red felt. Sew in place. Sew 7 rhinestones over each eye and one at center of each eyeball. Sew 2 sequins to cheek. Sew scraps of Autumn Glow Rug Yarn in place for hair. Make another piece the same way. Sew pieces together. With Spanish Red, sc around bone ring. Sew in place.
