MATERIALS:
J. & P. COATS CROCHET CORD, 3 balls of White or Ecru and 1 ball of any color will make 3 pot holders.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 6.
1 bone ring for each holder.
With Ecru, work sc closely over bone ring. Join with sl st to 1st sc. 1st rnd: Ch 3 (to count as dc), dc in front loop of sc where sl st was made, dc in front loop of next 5 sc, ch 3, dc in front loop of next 6 sc. Turn and, working in remaining loop of same sc's, make dc in next 6 sc, ch 3, dc in next 5 sc. Sl st in top of first ch-3. 2nd rnd: Ch 3, * dc in each dc to ch-3 sp; in sp, make 2 dc, ch 3 and 2 dc. Repeat from * once more, dc in remaining dc. Join. Repeat the last rnd until piece measures 4 inches along side edge. Fasten off.
Attach Color, ch 3 and work 1 rnd as before. Join and fasten off. Now work 1 rnd of Ecru and 1 rnd of Color alternately, twice. Fasten off.
EDGING . . . This is worked over both thicknesses along lower edge. Attach Ecru, * ch 4, make 3 dc at base of ch-4, skip 2 dc, sc in next dc. Repeat from * across, having sc, ch 4 and 3 dc in center ch-3 sp. Fasten off.
